FORD RANGER 3.0 V6 NEXT-GEN 2022-2025
Ford Ranger 3.0L V6 Diesel Tuning & ECU Remapping Australia
About the Ford Ranger 3.0L V6 Diesel
The Next Gen Ford Ranger 3.0L V6 Diesel is one of Australia’s most capable dual-cab platforms, combining strong towing performance with modern drivability and efficiency.
From the factory, the 3.0-litre V6 turbo-diesel produces 156kW and 500Nm (flywheel), paired with Ford’s 10-speed automatic transmission and rated to tow 3,500kg. While highly capable, the factory calibration prioritises emissions compliance, global fuel quality, and drivetrain protection — leaving noticeable performance untapped.
This is where professional ECU remapping and dyno tuning delivers real-world gains.

ECU Remap
The Next-Gen Ford Ranger V6 Lion is controlled by a torque-based engine management system that is conservatively calibrated from factory to suit global emissions standards and fuel quality. Our ECU remap calibration recalibrates the engine’s control strategy, unlocking usable performance while maintaining safe operating limits. Overall, out ECU remap optimises engine control on the Next-Gen Ford Ranger V6 Lion, improving torque, throttle response, and drivability — especially for towing and real-world use.

TCU Remap
Don't underestimate the importance of the Transmission calibration on late model Ford vehicles! Our TCU tuning totally redefines the Aisin 10 speed transmission, addresses all of thes issues of indecisve shifting by custom tuning the calibration to provide smoother, more responsive gear changes, scheudled to match increases in torque when towing a load, truly complementing the enhanced performance of a professionally tuned engine. Pairing transmission tuning with our ECU remap is not mandatory, however, is extremely popular especially when towing. For best results, ECU and TCU tuning should be performed together. We can also code paddle shifting logic, launch control, trans-brake and numeorus other functions to the TCU. Again, don't underestimate the importance of the Transmission calibration on late model Ford vehicles!

Intercooler Upgrade
We choose the Garrett option for its designed quality fit and function. Thes characteristics mean it does no inhbit air flow and thus cooling for the condenser and radiator. Moreover, it recitfies the clearnece issue to the fan shroud, allowing ingress of grass, water, mud and dirt to not block the lower core of the radiator which leads to overheating when used offroad.

DPF-Back Exhaust Upgrade
The Next-Gen Ford Ranger 3.0 V6 factory exhaust system is a restrictive, press-bent, mass-produced assembly that increases backpressure once torque is raised through ECU calibration. As power and load demand increase, the limitations of the OE pipe diameter transitions and chambered muffler design become more evident. Our 3.5” mandrel-bent DPF-back system is engineered to reduce post-DPF restriction, improve mid-range torque delivery, and support stable exhaust gas temperatures under towing and sustained load. The result is improved turbocharger efficiency, more responsive torque delivery, and a refined exhaust note without excessive cabin drone. To maintain compliance, this system begins after the factory Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF), maintaining full emissions functionality and compliance with Australian Design Rules (ADR). The DPF remains untouched and continues to operate as designed, including active and passive regeneration cycles. An inbuilt resonator is fitted as standard to ensure optimal acoustic control while maintaining exhaust flow efficiency. The system is manufactured as a full 3.5” mandrel-bent stainless steel configuration to ensure consistent internal diameter and smooth-radius transitions throughout. It is available in either 304-Grade "Raw" stainless or a High-Polished option, depending on the desired finish and application. Both systems perform and fit identically. All flange connections utilise 3-bolt, 10mm thick 304-grade stainless steel flange plates for strength and sealing integrity. Reinforced mounting brackets incorporate 10mm and 12mm 304 stainless steel support rods with knob-ended retainers to prevent hanger movement or dislodgement from rubber mounts. Zinc-plated locking nuts and bolts are supplied to ensure reliable long-term fastening security. This exhaust upgrade has been developed to integrate directly with our ECU and transmission calibration strategies, providing the correct mechanical foundation for increased torque output while maintaining compliance, durability, and long-term reliability.

Exhaust Upgrade
The factory exhaust system incorporates multiple restriction points from the turbocharger outlet rearward, including emissions control components and reduced-diameter pipe sections. In regions where emissions compliance requirements differ from Australia, New Zealand, the United States, and the European Union, a full turbo-back configuration may be available for off-road or export applications. Our 3.5” mandrel-bent turbo-back system replaces the complete exhaust assembly from the turbocharger outlet rearward. This configuration is engineered to significantly reduce overall backpressure, improve turbine efficiency, and optimise exhaust gas evacuation under high load and sustained torque conditions. The full system is strictly supplied for markets outside the US, EU, AUS, and NZ where local regulations permit its use. It is not supplied for on-road use within Australia or other regulated emissions jurisdictions. Suitability remains the responsibility of the purchaser based on local compliance requirements. By reducing turbine outlet restriction and improving downstream flow capacity, the turbo-back configuration supports enhanced boost control stability and improved torque delivery at higher load points. This is particularly relevant for applications involving sustained towing, heavy-duty use, motorsport, or export fleet applications operating under alternative regulatory environments. When integrated with our calibrated ECU strategy, the system allows for optimised turbine response, controlled exhaust gas temperature management, and improved overall drivability under increased torque demand. The system is manufactured as a full 3.5” mandrel-bent stainless steel assembly to ensure consistent internal diameter and smooth flow transitions from the turbo outlet to the rear section. It is available in premium raw stainless or polished 304-grade stainless steel depending on application requirements. Heavy-duty flange interfaces are utilised throughout, incorporating 3-bolt 10mm 304-grade stainless steel flange plates for structural integrity and sealing reliability. Reinforced brackets with 10mm and 12mm 304 stainless support rods, featuring knob-ended retainers, ensure hanger stability under vibration and load. Zinc-plated locking hardware is supplied to maintain fastening integrity over long-term service.

Transmission Cooler Upgrade
The factory 10-speed automatic transmission cooling system is calibrated around standard torque output and general-use duty cycles. When engine torque is increased through ECU calibration, or the vehicle is used for towing, touring, larger tyres, or sustained highway load, transmission heat generation increases significantly. Our twin-core supplementary transmission cooler upgrade is engineered to provide additional thermal capacity beyond the OE system, helping maintain stable automatic transmission fluid (ATF) temperatures under high-load and high-ambient conditions. Increased torque output and sustained load can elevate ATF temperatures beyond ideal operating thresholds. Excessive heat can influence torque converter clutch stability, adaptive shift behaviour, and long-term clutch pack durability. By increasing external cooling surface area and airflow efficiency, the twin-core design improves heat rejection while retaining correct hydraulic flow characteristics within the transmission system. The result is more stable shift performance and improved thermal headroom during towing and heavy-duty operation. This system operates as a supplementary cooling stage, working in conjunction with the factory heat exchanger rather than replacing it. This ensures correct warm-up characteristics are retained while providing additional cooling capacity once operating temperatures rise. The twin-core configuration is selected to balance cooling efficiency with pressure stability, ensuring no adverse impact on transmission line pressure or control strategies. Mounting and hose routing are designed to maintain OEM flow direction and structural reliability in off-road and touring applications. This upgrade is particularly recommended for vehicles operating above factory torque levels or frequently exposed to high ambient conditions in the northern parts of Australia.
