TCU (Transmission) Tuning

Frustrated with the indecsive shifting, torque converter flare, hunting gears, expecialyl when towing? Our 4JJ-3 TCU Tuning totally redefines the Aisin 6-speed AWR-6B45 transmission, addresses all of these issues by custom tuning the calibration to provide smoother, more responsive gear changes, complementing the enhanced performance of a professionally tuned engine. Pairing transmission tuning with our ECU remap is not mandatory, however, is extremely popular especially when towing. For best results, ECU and TCU tuning should be performed together.

Transmission Cooler

The Isuzu D-Max 4JJ3 6-speed automatic generates additional heat when towing, carrying heavy loads, or running increased torque. Excessive transmission temperature is one of the leading causes of long-term gearbox wear and failure. An upgraded transmission cooler improves heat control, helping maintain safe operating temperatures and protect the transmission under sustained load.

Exhaust Upgrade

Whilst the OEM exhaust is quite efficient on the 4JJ-3, a DPF-back exhaust upgrade does marginally improves exhaust gas flow on the Isuzu D-Max 4JJ3, reducing backpressure after the oxidation cayalyst and particualte filer, and supporting slightly more torque gains, as well as a more pronounced exhaust note — particularly when paired with ECU tuning or towing applications.

Turbocharger Upgrade

The factory turbocharger on the Isuzu D-Max 4JJ3 is designed for reliability and efficiency, cofirtbaly supporting up to 28PSIG, but it becomes a limiting factor once higher torque or sustained load is introduced through ECU tuning to "Stage 3" level. A turbocharger upgrade provides more efficient charge air effectively to the engine, supporting increased torque while maintaining safe level of charge air density and temperature.

Injector Upgrade

Our custom-built performance injectors increase fuel delivery on the Isuzu D-Max 4JJ-3, by 10% in low load areas, 30% in medium load areas and 60% in high load areas. These are not purely a nozzle swap, including a spacer plate modifcation and bench testing to ensure correct operation before installing in the engine.
